The Army Physical Fitness Test is the U.S. Army’s standardized evaluation of an individual’s physical fitness. The test consists of:
The test is conducted twice a semester, once at the beginning and once at the end. The first test is a diagnostic evaluation and the outcome does not affect the grades of the cadets. The diagnostic APFT is a tool for developing proficiency at completing the APFT to standard as well as for highlighting areas to work on over the course of the semester. At the end of the semester a Record APFT is taken, the results of which are considered permanent and are compared against results from the Diagnostic test.
- Two minutes of push-ups
- Two minutes of sit-ups
- Two mile run
