Manus1953: 1LT Luther R. Manus (Dr.) served in the 716th MP BN, B Company, as a training officer and then he immediately served in H Company of the 272nd IN training Regiment. He was discharged 31 March 1955 and immediately reenlisted as a SFC. He served in Vietnam with the 593rd General Support Group as an NCO from 1967-1968. 1LT Manus finished his military career by serving as Cadre at Gannon from 1968-1971.


1955: COL Lowell Lawson is a 1955 Distinguished Military Graduate who branched Medical Service Corps. COL Lawson received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Tulane University. COL Lawson’s final assignment was with the 5032nd USAR School as Secretary of the School.

McSweeney1964: COL Denny McSweeney.  As a combat arms officer, COL McSweeney commanded units in Europe and South East Asia (South Vietnam). He spent his last eight years of military service assigned to high level staff assignments in the Pentagon, Washington, DC, working for the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of Defense. After retiring from the military in 1993, Denny continued his government service as a senior level Civil Service employee in the Department of Defense’s Inspector General’s Office, the Pentagon.  He was appointed as a supervising investigator in the Pentagon’s effort to investigate allegations of waste, fraud and abuse by senior Government Officials.  E-mail: DDanielMac@aol.com

1964: LTC Terrence J. Camp graduated from Gannon College with a degree in Mathematics. He served 24 years in the Army Air Defense Artillery Branch and served with the First Infantry Division, G-3 Air, in Vietnam.  During that time, he earned Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, TX, and in Management from Webster University of St. Louis. 1964: LTC John L. Locke is a Gannon College graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  Upon graduation, he was commissioned a 2LT in the Army’s Medical Service Corps.  During his twenty year military career, he served in a variety of command and human resources staff positions throughout the United States and overseas in Vietnam.  He received a Master of Arts Degree in Personnel Management from Webster University in 1975.  His final assignment was the Chief of Recruiting Operations, Office of the Surgeon General, Department of the Army, Washington, DC.  LTC Locke’s military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), and the Army Commendation Medal.  After his military retirement, Mr. Locke served as a civilian Military Human Resources Specialist for Department of the Army and retired from the Army Human Resources Command in 2005.  He resides in Northern Virginia with his wife Pamela.  E-mail: johnlocke@cox.net

Poux1970: COL Robert Poux Jr. (In Memoriam) was a Gannon graduate and who commissioned into the Medical Service Corps. He obtained his master's degree from Virginia Tech. Some of his major duty assignments included Company Commander and S2/3, 307th Medical Battalion (Abn), 82nd Airborne Division, Executive Officer, 8th Medical Battalion and 708th Forward Support Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, Support Operations Officer, National Training Center, Commander, 177th Forward Support Battalion , 177th Armored Brigade, Chief, Plans and Operations Division, Directorate of Healthcare Operations, Department of The Army Surgeon General’s Office, Commander, Center Brigade, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School, and Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School.

Dubik1971: LTG James M. Dubik relinquished command of Multi National Security Transition Command-Iraq on 3 July 2009. Previously, LTG Dubik was the Commanding General of I Corps and Ft. Lewis. He was commissioned a second lieutenant of infantry from Gannon University as a Distinguished Military Graduate. LTG Dubik has held numerous leadership and command positions with airborne, ranger, light and mechanized infantry units around the world. Following his initial assignment with the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he served as a staff officer and company commander in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Infantry (Ranger) at Fort Lewis, Washington. He commanded the 5th Battalion, 14th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division (Light) and the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York, during which time he commanded US and Multi-national forces in northern Haiti during Operation Uphold Democracy. He served as Assistant Division Commander for Support, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; Deputy Commanding General TASK FORCE EAGLE and Multinational Division (North) Operation Joint Forge, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Deputy Commanding General for Transformation, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Commanding General of the 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii from 2000 to 2002. LTG Dubik’s staff positions include; Executive Officer, 1st Ranger Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield; Inspector General, 25th Infantry Division (Light); Instructor, U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Associate Professor of Philosophy, United States Military Academy; Special Assistant to General Gordon Sullivan, Chief of Staff, United States Army where he also held a fellowship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Executive Officer to General Dennis J. Reimer, Chief of Staff, United States Army; Director of Training, U.S. Army Assistant Chief of Staff (Operations). LTG Dubik has attended a wide variety of military schools to include the Infantry Officer Basic Course, United States Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, United States Army Command and General Staff College and Senior Service College Fellowship. He completed the Advanced Operations Studies Fellowship, Fort Leavenworth; Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government’s executive program for national and international security; and the National Security Leadership Course at The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Philosophy from Gannon University, a Master’s of Arts degree in Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Military Arts and Sciences Degree from the United States Army Command and General Staff College. His awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, four awards of the Legion of Merit, five awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous Army Commendation and Achievement Medals. He is ranger, airborne and air assault qualified and holds the expert infantryman’s badge, master parachutist badge as well as the Army Staff Identification Badge.

1971: COL Joseph T. Stehn graduate is a graduate of Gannon who completed 30 years of military service, mostly in the U.S. Army Reserve and retired in 2000 as Chief of Staff, 78th Division (EX).  E-mail: stehn@belcotech.com

1972: COL Jerry Joyce a Gannon graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science and a Master's of Education from Boston University.  He branched Military Intelligence and served 28 years with his last assignment ending in July 2000 as Deputy J-2, US European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. COL Joyce was a Human Intelligence, counterintelligence special agent and counterterrorism expert who was detailed for several years to the CIA and spent over 13 years conducting sensitive intelligence operations in and from Germany.  He currently teaches advanced HUMINT to the FBI and resides in Northern Virginia.  E-mail: coljjj@gmail.com

Del Fuoco1976: Colonel Jeffrey J. Del Fuoco is a 1976 (B.A.) and 1978 (M.B.A.) graduate of Gannon University, and has served as a member of the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve for nearly 30 years.  During the course of his career, Colonel Del Fuoco has served as a member of the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency, as a trial defense counsel, prosecutor, legal advisor to the Judge Advocate General of the Army and as a Staff Judge Advocate.  Colonel Del Fuoco has also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney while prosecuting DoD fraud and corruption cases while a member of the Army's Procurement Fraud Division at the Pentagon.  In addition to his CONUS service, Colonel Del Fuoco has served overseas with the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) in support of operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina during Operation Joint Endeavor.  Some of Colonel Del Fuoco's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal (4 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (3 Oak Leaf Clusters), the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Reserve Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon.  Among other notable assignments, Colonel Del Fuoco has served with USALSA, FORSCOM and the 79th, 81st and 88th Divisions (RRCs), as well as being legal advisor to the 16th MP Bde (Airborne).  E-mail: jeffrey.delfuoco1@gmail.com 

1981: BG Timothy J. Hilty is a Gannon University Distinguished Military Graduate receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology.  He was commissioned as a 2LT in the Air Defense Artillery in 1982 and graduated from the Air Defense Officer Basic and Short Range Air Defense Qualification Courses in 1983.  While on active duty, Colonel Hilty has served in a variety of command and staff positions, both within the United States, overseas, and on deployments for combat and peacekeeping operations.  During his first tour of duty with the 2nd BN 60th ADA Regiment, Ramstein, Germany (1983 -1986), he served as a Chaparral Platoon Leader, Battery Executive Officer, and Battalion S1/Adjutant.  In 1986, LTC Hilty attended the Initial Entry Rotary Wing Qualification and upon graduation was assigned to the 2nd Aviation Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Tongduchon, Korea where he served as a Company Executive Officer and OH-58 Scout Platoon Leader.  After attending the Aviation Officer’s Advance Course in 1988, he completed the AH-64 Apache Qualification Course and assumed command of C Company 3rd Battalion 227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas.  Upon completion of the Apache Unit Training Program at Fort Hood, the Battalion was transferred to Hanau, Germany and the 3rd Armored Division in 1989.  After completing command, he was reassigned as the Assistant S3-Plans, Combat Aviation Brigade, 3AD.  During this assignment, he deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm (1990-1991).  Upon returning to the United States, he was assigned to Depot Systems Command, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, as the Aviation Officer and Flight Detachment Commander.  He departed active duty in 1993. In 1995, Colonel Hilty joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard as a traditional guardsman and served as the Aviation Maintenance Officer and Operations Officer in the 213th Area Support Group, Allentown, PA from 1996 through 2000.  While assigned to the 213th ASG he deployed to the Balkans as part of SFOR 1.  In 1999, Colonel Hilty was selected into the PA ARNG Active Guard Reserve Program.  Colonel Hilty returned to the aviation community in 2001 and served in a number of command and staff positions including; Aviation Safety Officer in the State Army Aviation Office; Brigade S3, Combat Aviation Brigade, 28ID (M); Commander, 1st Bn 104th Aviation (Attack), 28th Combat Aviation Brigade; Deputy Commander, Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (Eastern AATS); and Commander, Eastern AATS.  He is a graduate of the United States Army War College Resident Class of 2005.  Colonel Hilty served as the Chief, Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, Pennsylvania National Guard from June 2009 - 2010.  BG Hilty currently serves as the Deputy Commanding General of the 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania Army National Guard in Harrisburg, PA.

Marquart1985: COL Joseph Marquart
 is a Gannon graduate and is a Chemical Corps officer. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Gannon. He earned his Masters of Science at Central Michigan University in Business Administration.  He completed his most recent tour in the Office
of the Secretary of Defense serving as Director for Chemical Demilitarization Programs assigned to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics. He is currently a Division Chief at the U.S. Army Nuclear and Combating WMD Agency in Washington, DC. E-mail: joseph.marquart@us.army.mil

Letizio1990: LTC Robert Letizio graduated from Gannon with a B.S. in Biology and was commissioned into the Medical Service Corps. He is currently assigned to the office of The Surgeon General in Falls, Church, VA. McGarry1995: MAJ Jeremy McGarry is a graduate of Gannon University and earned a commission in the USAR and branched Quartermaster.  He currently serves as HHC Commander at the 475th Group in Farrel, PA and is also an Electrical Engineer for General Electric Co. in Erie, PA.




Pasquini1999: CPT Pasquini is Gannon graduate branched Signal Corps. She was deployed in 2006 and currently on active duty stationed at the University of Arizona.  E-mail: pasquini@email.arizona.edu





Simecek2003: 1LT Simecek is a Gannon graduate branched in the Medical Service Corps as a Physical Therapist. She is married and has two boys. She is currently the assistant chief of the Physical Therapy clinic at Fort Knox, KY.  E-mail: amber.simecek@us.army.mil




Ola2004: CPT Ola is a Gannon graduate and is a Military Intelligence officer. He was stationed with the 513th MI Brigade at Fort Gordon, GA and served as the HHC executive officer, HUMINT platoon leader, Intel systems platoon leader and assistant S-3. He later PCS’d to Ft Riley and is currently deployed as an Intelligence trainer for an Iraqi Brigade MiTT team near Mosul, Iraq. 2004: CPT James M. Nemec is a Gannon graduate whobranched Field Artillery. Upon graduation, he served for two months as a Gold Bar Recruiter before going to Ft. Sill, Oklahoma for OBC and was consequently assigned at Ft. Sill on the FORSCOM side of post. He spent three months as an MLRS platoon leader before being sent to a Paladin Battalion and deploying to Iraq as a Convoy Escort Platoon Leader in Mosul. CPT Nemec attended the Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course in the fall of 2007 and was then assigned to the Division Headquarters, 10th Mountain Division, Ft. Drum, NY where he deployed to Iraq from May 08 to May 09. On his next assignment he will serve as the Battalion Fire Support Officer and eventually Battery Commander for 3rd Brigade Combat Team. Maurer2005: CPT Scott Maurer is a Gannon graduate, branched Field Artillery and stationed with 4th Brigade Fires, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA. Maurelli2005: 1LT Maurelli is a 2005 Mercyhurst College graduate and Engineer officer. He served for two years as a Platoon Leader in a Reserve combat heavy company in Reading, PA. He is currently serving as an AGR HHC operations officer for the 372nd Engineer Brigade at Fort Snelling, MN. Cieslak2005: CPT Thomas Cieslak
is a Gannon graduate and is a Public Affairs Officer currently with Task Force Protector, deployed in support of Operation New Dawn (formerly Operation Enduring Freedom). He served in Iraq from August 2006 to November 2007. Daw2005: 1LT Carla Daw is a Gannon graduate who branched Military Police in the Pennsylvania National Guard. She served as an MP Platoon Leader with the Special Troops Battalion, 2BCT, 28ID, in Johnston, PA. She is currently the Brigade Provost Marshal for the 2nd BCT and is attending nursing school to become an Army Nurse.
